Finally an update

Since it has been 6 months since my last update I figure it is time for a short update!!

Lets see....

-Disneyland for spring break, we went with some great friends (moms and kids...no hubbys, they had to stay home and work to afford to send us on trips like this....LOL, thanks sweetie)...had a blast, all the kids were angels the whole time...i just wish we could have spent a few extra days to enjoy it a bit longer!

-SCHOOLS OUT..am I the only one that is so excited for school to be out???...no more "is your home work done", "time for bed", "get to bed its a school night", is your home work done, is your home work done!! UGH...I thought when I graduated I was done with homework....SO not the case, and lets be honest I can't help with Math!! LOl Braxton is already so beyond my knowledge of math!! Any-hoo, we survived 7th grade with a crazy basketball schedule and ended up with great grades the whole time~~ GOOD JOB Braxton, we are always so proud of you! Heres to 8th Grade!!

-Zoi is getting so big and is almost a year, why does this time go by so fast!?! She is learning so much and is just a huge joy in our lives!

-Braxton broke his foot playing a mean game of basketball!! He was out for the last of the summer season and had to miss a few camps, but he is healing nicely and back at the basketball training!!

-Me and the kids went to the Hogle Zoo one day and we had the best time! Weather was perfect, not to hot! All the animals were out and Zoi was so excited and the elephants!!

-WHAT THE CRAP???...I'm prego!! Yes you read that correct, I am having baby number 3!! It was a HUGE surprise, but a GREAT surprise! Zoi and new baby will be 17 months apart, and I am sure they will best of friends!! My due date is Jan. 17.....day after Braxtons birthday! I promise to post again when we know the sex!! :)

-Going forward......we are getting ready to leave for Vegas/California. Braxton is going to attend the Kobe Bryant Camp in Santa Barbara, I guess if you want to be the best, you should train with the best, right?!?! I am so happy for him and can't wait to hear all about his experience (and yes Kobe is very involved and is at camp everyday. We are leaving a few days early to spend some time in Vegas to visit my dad, can't wait to be pool side!! Ray is actually taking vacation, and I can't wait to spend some good quality family time together, we are going to have a blast!! I will post pictures when we get back!

Christmas 2009

We had a blast this year!! Zoi was so much fun and more excited and engaged than I thought she would be. Braxton's response was..."this is the best Christmas ever"...and it will be until next year! lol

I am WAY behind on posts...... We had our beautiful baby girl on 8/23/09, she was 7.5 lbs and 19 3/4 long. She is now 6 weeks old and is so much fun and we just can't imagine our lives without her. Braxton is such an awesome big brother!!

I am sure so many things have happened since I last blogged...I have to be honest, Facebook is so much easier! Soo...lets see Easter was fun, maybe one day I will post some pics. We only have 10 weeks until baby arrives....scary and fun all at the same time! We just purchased the cutest puppy ever....and I am posting pics of him...his name is Franki, he is 7 weeks old. Well that is all I have for now...I will try to be better!!

1. Today I lost my job...I have been really upset most of the day, but have realized it is a bitter sweet feeling now! They let go 6 people and I just happen to one of them!

2. Now that I am not working I can just sit around and enjoy this belly that is growing at such a fast rate!!

3. Braxton is doing really good in Basketball and he keeps us really busy. He is on 3 teams and learns so much from each of them. Last week he was able to attend the Lakers/Jazz game and Thurl Bailey (who is one of his coaches) invited him to come to the studio, Braxton was able to get some autographs before the game, and I am pretty sure it was the best night of his life!

4. My wonderful husband is doing a phenomenal job at work and for all his hard efforts he has been invited to "club" What is club you ask!! Well..it is probably the best thing ever for the spouse! We are going to Hawaii in April and his company is paying for it all!! He works hard and deserves this...I am so proud of him!

5. I am finally starting to feel a bit more normal. This first trimester has been really rough. I have had to go to the ER 2 times and have an IV....I was dehydrated and I also have the yuk that has been going around! I just wish you could take things when you were pregnant...but I must just let it run its course!!

6. Valentines was a great day! Started off with a wonderful snow shoeing hike up the canyon with my brother and sister in-law and of course my hubby! We almost reached our goal....but made as far as we could and had a break before turning around! The boys played with guns and shot a tree with a chip bag on it, Jenny carved a beautiful heart (because it was valentines day)! And I just tried to stay warm!! Here are a few pics of our adventure.

December 27, was my dads birthday!! Dad and Diana came up to visit after Christmas.....it was a GREAT surprise. I had no idea they were coming and all the sudden my dad was on the door step! Thanks you making the trip Dad and Diana, it made the holiday season so much better. It was also fun to celebrate Dad's 60th birthday!

We had the best time at the family party! We had games, games, and more games!! The hit of the party seemed to be eating donuts from a string.....way harder than I ever imagined...no-one should have to work so hard for such goodness!

Thanks Jenny & Sam for having it at your house and thanks to Josh & Andrea for putting it all together....I am still disappointed that you didn't dress up......:)

Braxton has been working very hard in Scouts and we are so proud of him. He has earned his Tenderfoot, First Aid, Swimming, and Indian Lore!! Way to go buddy, your dad and I are always so proud of your accomplishments!!

Yes, those boys standing next to Braxton are his same age!! :) Good thing the boy loves Basketball....we are sure if he keeps growing and continues to play ball like he is, he will be supporting us with his salary he earns in the NBA!!! :)

I am not much of a cook, but I am starting to make more and more home-made meals, which is healthier for me and my family!!

Tonight I made chicken salad......cafe rio style, without all the extra fat!! I know it was good.....because even Braxton ate it and didn't complain about it being healthy!!

Total Calories-445

1 tortilla

2 tbs salsa

1/4 c black beans

1/4 c (or less) shredded cheese

1/4 c onion

2 c romaine lettuce

1 chicken breast

mix the salsa in the chicken, cook beans,

caramelize onions (yum), melt the cheese on the tortilla. Place tortilla in a bowl and fill with ingredients listed above....and Presto you have a delicious dinner!!

Well school has started again!! Braxton is big guy on campus now that he is a sixth grader!! I can't believe how time flies, it seems like yesterday I was taking him to kindergarten :( now that he is in sixth grade I found out that it is not "cool" to have your mom drop you off or take pictures in front of the school! I did get some photos pre-drop off!! hahaha

Weekend Update.....

Friday night we went to see the new Batman movie! I had heard it was a must see.....and I do have to agree, it was really good, a bit dark and more scary than I would have thought batman to be! I was glad that I didn't listen to others that said it would be okay to take Braxton to see it....I think he would have nightmares of clown faces for the rest of his life! What a great job Heath did in playing the Joker!!

Saturday was the big Alpine Days!! We started the morning off with the 5K run, everyone did really good, I was especially proud of Braxton for doing it .... and not only doing it, but he did it with a great attitude!! After the run we headed over to the fireman's breakfast and ate rubber pancakes, and what I think was processed eggs...you know the ones the served in school....YUM lol!! After that we hit the parade and then onto the car show....and finally to the festivities at the park. This year they had a bunch of the big inflatable slides and some of them were ones with water. Braxton played there all day and won a lot of soda!!

After a long day at the park we went ahead and finished good ole Alpine days off with a BBQ and some delicious smore's.....not the original smore's you see in the picture above, but keebler elf mint cookies with a roasted mellow...DELICIOUS!!! Then we ended the wonderful day with the firework show at the park!!

A couple of weeks ago we went hiking up to Timp Cave! We took the trail, no back side extra hard hiking this time.....maybe next time. It was a lot of fun, we went with Jenny, Sam, and their kids everyone did really well ! If you haven't hiked it, now is a great time to see how beautiful and green the canyon still is! I do have to say that Ranger Josh was not the best tour guide, he kinda ruined the whole cave experience!! He didn't even show us the Pillsbury Dough Boy.....jerk!! :) P.S. that is not a picture of our group!!

Wasatch Back!!

It has been awhile since my last blog....I will try to remember everything that we have been doing over the last 2 months!!

I ran my first race, and what a race it was!!! Nothing like starting with Wasatch Back, 181 miles, team of 12......run, run, maybe sleep...who am I kidding you don't sleep, drive, and run some more! I do have to say this race was really fun, the girls that were on my team were super fun, we laughed alot....many, many good memories! I think I did pretty good considering I didn't train much (I will train for next year!!) LOL Our team name was Wasatch Women, not our favorite...but we weren't being real creative when it was crunch time to think of a name! We are getting signed up for next year and we are going to do couples so it will be fun to have Ray racing with me next time!!

As soon as I finished with the race we went right to the Losee family reunion. I am sure it was a great time for everyone.....I pretty much laid out a blanket and caught up on some serious needed shut eye!! The kids played games and won lots of candy and as always the auction was a great success!

Hope of America

Last night was the performance of Hope of America. About 7000 kids from all over the Alpine School District put on this wonderful singing performance. Along with the kids performing there are many other little performances!! One of my favorites are the "Golden Girls" they are a dance team of blue hairs that get out on the floor and shake it......and at the very end a 91 year old lady shakes on the floor by herself and then ends the performance in the full SPLITS!!! She is awesome!!! I can't imagine doing the splits at my age!!

Braxton was part of the flag this year, and at the end the lights are out and all the kids turn on their flashlights to light the flag up......it looks amazing!! Way to go buddy, you did an awesome job!

Mullet Boy!!

Brax wanted a hair cut because as much basketball as the boy has been playing he realized that having an afro was not real cooling on the head!!

I think he looks great with the curly mullet!!......but we went ahead and cut all the hair off and now he has a nice buzz do!!

Red Iguana

After Kayaking we worked up an appetite and I had never been to the Red Iguana, so we headed to West Temple for some killer Mexican! It is defiantly a hole in the wall when you pull up, but I think those tend to be the best places to eat!! We tried all the Mole and it was good, but my favorites were the poblanas and the Verde.

We were getting ready to leave and poor Loredan took a dive off his chair, hit the metal edge of Rays and then proceeded to smack his face on the cement floor!! OUCH! He was okay, no blood, but he had a nasty bump on his head.....poor lil guy!!

Kayaking 101

Slower down down dad.......its a bit heavy!!

On Saturday Sam and Jenny invited us to go Kayaking up at Willard Bay with Sam's company (they were doing a clinic for the employees). It was 50 degrees out with not a cloud in the sky, we leave the house thinking it will be nice....holy moly!!....it was freezing, windy cold!! But in spite of the cold weather it was so much fun! Part of the event was to learn about all the appropriate gear to wear and what the differences of each kayak is and that the paddles really do different things!! While most of us stayed in the sun and visited some others were totally involved in learning every detail, which made sense as this is what most of the people would be selling......but as luck would have it my hubby was totally into it and was getting over load information so that he could have yet another hobby!!
I was a bit hesitate to get in the water since I already could barley feel that I still had fingers.....but I thought what the heck all the best gear is here and I am sure it will warm me up with all that upper body work!! And that is exactly what happened, we were so much warmer out in the water! Braxton even went out on his own, and was a natural! Everyone went out on the water except for Anthony, he was kicked back in a beached kayak having his own fun! Alessia went out in her own Kayak and she did great up until the wind picked up a touch and it was a bit much for her to get back to shore so Sam had to help her back.
I know my husband doesn't believe me, but I think we will make a couple camping/kayaking trips this summer....it was alot of fun, and if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it.....but make sure you get your best, most reliable gear from backcountry.com!! :)Thanks Sam and Jenny for the invite and a great family day at the lake!

Now ladies, we all know we had a thing for Zach and his sly moves, but what on earth were we thinking......Slaters mullet is so sizzling hot!! LOL

So last night Braxton and a friend were up on the hill playing and I just kept thinking that I should have them come in.....which I did! About 45 minutes later one of the neighbors calls me to tell me that a mountain lion was spotted next to our home, right about where the boys were playing......SCARY! I am glad that I listened to my instincts and had them come in. The police had spot lights on the front and back of my house searching for this crazy lion...no such luck though, they found tracks, but never found the mountain lion! Needless to say.....I don't go out in the dark and I am keeping a close eye on my dog.....and it will be a long time before I let Braxton walk to school through the cemetery....or even play on the hill!! Brax and I have read up on what to do if you encounter a mountain lion....and you should keep eye contact and you should lift your arms above your head and if you have a jacket also lift that up so you appear to be larger!!
I now feel certified!! LOL....okay not really because tonight I had to grab something out of the car and I heard some rustling in the bushes and glance over to see a large animal.......what did I do? Did I stay still to stare the animal down and lift my arms.....NOPE, I ran like a little girl (screaming excluded), I did look back briefly and it was not a mountain lion, it was just another deer!!

Oh my!! 31.....this means I am closer to 40 than I will ever be to 20!!

This year my Birthday was really low key. Ray and I were able to spend the day together watching movies and poppin corn, it was so relaxing and nice since I don't get much time with my hubby with all the traveling he does lately! Then we went to my moms for dinner and cheesecake...YUM!

My mom was so excited about my gift and I couldn't imagine what she would have gotten me since I told her "don't get me anything". She insisted that I open my gift before dinner.....so I did as my mom said....and as I open the package....I pull out this dog purse! My mom says "don't you just love it".....and I couldn't lie, so I tell her NO, I would never wear this! At this point I have figured that the woman has lost it! Then Ray proceeds to say...."look honey you can wear the collar as a headband"!! What the........!!!!! Okay so my mom has official lost it thinking I would like such an awful purse, what am I 5!!! LOL Then my sister pipes in, I paid for 1/2, we saw it and totally thought of you....(all I could keep thinking is...."you both should not have wasted your money")!

Well not much time goes by and I am just thinking to my self..... hmmmm not sure what to think actually!! Then my mom walks around the corner with a very cute purse.....much more my style!! We all start to laugh and she tells me that since I was so brutally honest in my dislike of the puppy purse, she better not drag out giving me the real gift!! LOL It is a funny story now! Oh and the purse was filled with so much candy........

Don't want to forget Rays gift to me....he bought me a fuel belt for when I go running....he knows his girl needs to stay well hydrated!! I love it!! It is the exact color I wanted and everything! Thanks sweetie, you are the bestest!

Easter

WOW...Easter has come and gone all ready, before we know it, it will be Christmas again!! Is it just me, or do the years fly by now that we are older!?! :) This year for Easter we colored eggs and then Braxton and I just stayed home.....the little one has been really sick, so we didn't want to infect the family. Ray was able to go to dinner over at his grandparents and everyone seemed to have a really good time!

Braxton and I watched Nancy Drew and ate some chocolate, and as he lay on the couch unable to do much else he would throw a ball into his b-ball easter basket!!....but I must say, he is still a great shot, sick or not!! :)

I know it has been awhile since I lasted updated.....I have heard from many that I need to get on the ball!! :) So....I will just do a quick update of what has been going on!

March 17-21 I worked up at BrainShare (Novell, brings me in to help with a huge conference every year....I get to be a cashier for a week....don't worry I never once counted out the drawer at the end of the night.....PHEW, I feel for the people in retail...LOL). It is such a fun time working with my old co-workers...Holly is the greatest, she is so funny and such a great friend! Thanks for always inviting me Ho!! Anyhoo.... Novell has a concert night every year and this year it was Collective Soul, Frank Caliendo was the comedian who opened for Collective Soul, he was very funny...great impressionist, check him out on youtube.com if you haven't heard of him before. I invited my sister-in-law Jenny and her cute girls Alessia and Siena, and of course Braxton was there too. We had a great time, I just wish that my phone camera would have worked....so sorry no pics of the kids...but here is one of the really cool wrist bands!!

So today, like any other day, I wake at 4am and head to work to train the many people that depend on me!! I am a bit sleepy this morning as I have been recovering from pneumonia.....and I stumble out the door, start the car, hit the garage door and away I went....riding along in pure silence and thinking about my day......at home it was not so peaceful!!! I get to work and look at my phone and I have missed 5 calls, I think to myself, what the heck it is 4:45am who is calling....and one call was from Ray, well he is never up at this time so I immediately call home and he is in panic mode making sure I am okay.....Still a bit confused on what is going on....Ray continues on to tell me that when I left the house I forgot to de-activate the alarm!! wHOOPS Ray and Braxton are awoken to the skreetching sound of the alarm and a voice coming over the intercom asking if everyone is OK!! Ray proceeds to tell them all is well, but it seems he forgot the code and the alarm company has sent the police!! Police arrive and check his ID to make sure he isn't at the Bruni residence robbing the place in his skivvies!!

Home and Garden....

Today Ray and I went to the home and garden show to get some great ideas for our yard that so needs to be done this spring. We walked away with many good ideas, and we are both excited to get to work. We are going to work on our yard first and then on to finish our basement!! We defiantly have our work cut out!!
